Jorginho is ready to snub interest from Lazio to stay at Arsenal.

Former Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri wants to be reunited with Jorginho but the midfielder is not keen on a return to Serie A.

Arsenal are plotting an overhaul of their midfield this summer.

The Gunners are preparing an improved third offer for Declan Rice and Granit Xhaka is set for a £13million move to Bayer Leverkusen.

They are also targeting Brighton’s Moises Caicedo and Southampton’s Romeo Lavia, though any further moves depend on player sales.

But Arsenal are looking to offload Thomas Partey instead of Jorginho.

Jorginho has a contract with Arsenal until the end of next season and the club have an option for a further year.

The 31-year-old has told friends he is comfortable in London and keen to make a success of his stay at Arsenal, having joined from Chelsea in January.

Sarri helped Jorginho take his game to a new level at Napoli and then brought the playmaker to England when he signed him for Chelsea in 2018.
